Activities of

Social Welfare Department :

 (i). The Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS) : The ICDS Scheme was introduced in the year 1975 . The objectives of the scheme are as follows:-
1. To improve the nutritional and health status of children below the age of six years and pregnant and Lactating mothers.
2. To lay the foundation for the proper psychological, physical and social development of child.
3.  To reduce the incidence of mortality, morbidity, malnutrition and school dropouts.
4. To achieve effective co-ordination of policy and implementation among various departments to promote child development.
5. To enhance the capability of the mother to look after the normal health and nutrition needs of the child through proper health and nutrition education.

(I ) Services envisaged are as follows
(i) Supplementary nutrition
(ii) Immunization
(iii) Health checkup
(iv) Referral Services
(v ) Nutrition and Health Education
(vi) Early detection of child hood disability

 

1.

 Pre- School Education By Awnganawadi Workers

In every Anganawadi centre here are providing non-formal education through storytelling, playing, drawing, learning by doing action songs etc among age group as  03 yrs to 06 yrs .

25588 Nos  non-formal Pre- school education students available at Nalbari District.

2.Supplementary Nutrition Programme( SNP)

Supplementary Nutrition Programme (S.N.P.) in ICDS Supplementary Nutrition Programme is running to the 06 Month to 06 Year children ,pregnant and lactating mothers through Awanganawadi Centers . We have received Rs. 3,87,48,780.00  for the year 2017-18   and Previous balance available  Rs   3,28,53,922.00 against the amount we  expenses

Rs 5,86,29,753.00 for the financial year 2017-18 as  following beneficiaries :

  1. 06 month to 3 year 33,041 Nos.
  2. 3 year to 6 year.25588 Nos
  3. Pregnant mother 7458 Nos.
  4. Nursing Mother 7310 Nos.

Malnourished Children 6 Nos

Till date  balance available Rs 1,29,72,949

3.Nutration & Health Education

Nutrition and Health Education are also providing among adolescent girls SHGs, Mother support groups etc through Anganawadi Centers. Village Health and Nutrition Day and ECCE Day are observed month wise with the help of  ANM,ASHA supervisors etc .

The Social Welfare Department  felicitated   to  Senior Citizens by   observing   International  Senior Citizen day in every 1st Oct 

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana(PMMVY) :

PMMVY or Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana or Pradhan Mantri Martu Vandana Yojana is a flagship scheme of  Hon’ble Narendra Modi Government for pregnant women and lactating mothers. Under the PMMVY pregnancy aid scheme, the central government is providing a financial assistance of Rs. 6000 to the pregnant women and lactating mothers for the first live birth of child including JSY for Hospital Delivery .

The PMMVY registration for claiming Rs. 6000 pregnancy aid can be done through the Anganwadi Centers (AWC) or the nearest approved health facility. The application form for registration under Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana can be obtained directly from the Anganwadi Centers or the approved health facility free of cost.

The dully filled PMMVY application form can be submitted at the same Anganwadi center or the health facility for the claim of pregnancy aid amount of Rs. 6000. The pregnant women and lactating mothers who have their pregnancy on or after 1 January 2017 are eligible to apply for Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana.

         In our district  total numbers of benefited pregnant  beneficiaries  are 1169 Nos.  per beneficiaries Rs.1000.00 for 1st installment and Rs. 2000.00 for 2nd installment and   total amounting of  RS. 9,17,000.00 for 1st  installment Rs 5,04000.00 for 2nd installment has paid by Director Social Welfare Assam through RTGS ,3rd installment is under process till on 10th Sept,2018 in respect of Nalbari Dist.

Supplementary  Nutrition Programme

SNP is an important service of Social Welfare Department , supplementary Nutrition is provided to the Children of age group 6 months to 6 years, Pregnant & Lactating Mothers. Fund transferred  to Anganwadi centres  through Management committee of ICDS Project .

Supplementary Nutrition includes supplementary feeding and distribution of nutrition supplements i.e. vitamin A and Iron and Folic Acid tables to the beneficiaries.

Supplementary Feeding –At AWW, Supplementary Food is provided with an aim to meet the gap of nearly 1/3rd of calories and protein requirements for a day of children below 6 years as well as of adolescent girls, pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Supplementary Food is provided for 300 days in a year which means six days per week or 25 days per month.

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojona(PMMVY):

It is a centrally Sponsored conditional cash transfer scheme for Pregnant Woman and Lactating Mother(PW &LM) for the live birth only. It provides partial wage compensation to woman for wage- loss during childbirth and child care and to provide conditions for the safe delivery and good nutrition and feeding practices.

Benefits under PMMVY: PW & LM shall receive a cash benefit of Rs.5000/- in three installment at the following stages as specified in the table given below:

MSK:
ACHEIVEMENT REPORT AUG’20 TO Till Date UNDER DLCW, MAHILA
SHAKTI KENDRA, NALBARI
Activity of MSK –
On the first month, Respected DSWO explains how we should work.
DLCW staff had participated inauguration function and awareness meeting of Poshan
Abhiyaan.
 DLCW staff has visited 7 block and 7 ICDS under Nalbari District to orientation with the official and to collect some information about women related work.
 Other than this MSK team were planning about organizing awareness meeting for empowerment of women and what problem are women facing.
 DLCW team participated the screening medical camp under social welfare office Nalbari. In this medical health camp, the entire disable person was being given free health check up in 6 no of ICDS under Nalbari District.
DLCW team has visited one stop centre to collect some information like how many cases have been registered so far, how many cases are going on right now etc. and to discuss the awareness meeting in collaboration with OSC.
DLCW team went to women committee to get some information related to problem of women.
 DLCW team has visited sub divisional office to know about the scheme going on there.
DLCW team went Zila
Parishad to discuss about the newly launched scheme related to women.
DLCW team visited to plan with Mahila
Samiti to observed International Women’s Day.
MSK team had observed Women’s Day together with the District Legal Service Authority.
 MSK team has visited the Assam state Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) office for discussing the awareness meeting with self help group.
MSK Team has visited Paschim
Nalbari ICDS to discuss about organize a awareness meeting on women    related issues under ICDS.
MSK Team has visited OSC to get update of new case and inquire about their work.
MSK Team had done some officials data entry work, and preparing UC/SOE.
All the members of MSK from all the District of Assam, members of UNICEF, and members of YUWAAH participated in the meeting. Apart from this, District action plan and annual report were also being prepared.
